HEAT at Summer Well 2026: Bringing Immersive Technologies to Life

By August 18, 2026No Comments

From 7–9 August 2026, the HEAT project was present at the Summer Well Festival (summerwell.ro), bringing immersive technologies closer to festivalgoers.

Orange Romania, together with the Transilvania University of Brasov and Asociatia Transilvania Arts and Events showcased the technologies developed within the frame of the project, particularly the volumetric live video capture with sound.

The festivalgoers were captured while playing a guitar and singing through a microphone using 3D cameras, the Holomit framework by i2CAT Research Centre and the audio pipeline by Transilvania University of Brasov. The attendees were live holoported on one of the festival stages previously acquired using advanced photogrammetry techniques developed by Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and Immersion. At the same time, the participants were able to navigate the festival environment using 3D headsets and witness the live captured content.

The demonstration also provided a valuable opportunity to explore how participants experience and perceive these emerging technologies. Transilvania University of Brasov conducted market research during the festival, supported by Adaptemy, to gather valuable insights and feedback directly from participants.

The Summer Well Festival provided a dynamic real-world setting to showcase HEAT technologies, interact directly with users and gather valuable insights to support their further development.
